We’ve worked to create more than just a school – we’ve built a strong, supportive community where students aged 16–19 can thrive. We set out to create something different at The Learn Academy – a school where students feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow into confident, curious, and capable individuals. So when The Good Schools Guide approached us for a review, it felt like a meaningful moment of recognition.
For those who may not know, The Good Schools Guide is one of the most trusted and influential independent school review platforms globally. Inclusion is not something schools can buy – it’s earned. Their team handpicks schools based on merit, conducts in-person visits, and publishes honest, detailed reviews grounded in first-hand experience. We consider it an honour to have been selected, and we’re incredibly proud to have our school featured on their website.
What The Good Schools Guide Had to Say About Us
The review process was thorough – a representative visited our school, observed lessons, spoke with students, teachers, and parents, and got a real feel for what makes TLA unique. Here are some of the standout points from their review:
A school that “gets the best from students” – They highlighted how our personalised approach ensures that each student reaches their full potential.
A welcoming and close-knit community – Our small class sizes and open-door policy mean students feel heard and supported.
International A Levels that open global doors – We are proud to offer an internationally recognised curriculum that prepares students for top universities worldwide.
A student-led environment – They recognised how much we value student input, from shaping school policies to designing learning experiences.
An atmosphere of trust and respect – Our students described the school as a place where they feel safe, understood, and challenged academically.
One of my favourite parts of the review is how they describe our students: ‘Happy, engaged, and articulate young people, keen to share their thoughts on their school and future plans.’ That, to me, is exactly what we strive for at TLA.
