A-Levels FAQ’s

How many A-Levels should I take?

Most students take three A-Level subjects, which is the standard for university entrance in the UK and across Europe. Highly competitive courses may recommend four, and we provide personalised guidance to help students choose the right number based on their goals and strengths.

What is the difference between A-Levels and the IB Diploma?

A-Levels and the IB Diploma are both internationally recognised qualifications, but they differ in structure and academic focus.

A-Levels allow students to specialise in three or four subjects of their choice, offering greater depth in specific areas. This makes them ideal for students who already have a clear sense of their academic strengths or university plans.

The IB Diploma requires students to study six subjects across a range of disciplines, along with core components like Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay, and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service). It offers a broader, more holistic curriculum.

Both are valued by universities worldwide, but A-Levels are often preferred by students seeking flexibility, subject depth, and focused preparation for specific degree programmes.

Are A-Levels accepted by universities outside the UK?

Yes, A-Levels are internationally recognised qualifications accepted by universities in the UK, USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, and many other countries. They are especially valued for allowing subject specialisation.
